Clinical Description
Nayflee Plus Spot-On for Cat is a dual-action topical ectoparasiticide formulated for controlling fleas, ticks and lice in cats.
Fipronil acts against adult ectoparasites by disrupting parasite nervous-system chloride channels. (S)-Methoprene is an insect growth regulator that interferes with the development of immature flea stages, including eggs and larvae, helping interrupt the flea life cycle and reduce reinfestation.
Indications / Recommended Uses
Nayflee Plus is used in cats for:
- Treatment and prevention of flea infestations
- Control of flea eggs and immature flea stages
- Tick control
- Lice control
- Helping reduce flea reinfestation by interrupting the flea life cycle.
Dosage & Administration
Cats aged 8 weeks and above: One 0.5 ML pipette per cat.
Part the hair at the base of the neck/between the shoulder blades until the skin is visible. Apply the entire contents of the pipette directly onto the dry skin, rather than onto the hair.
Available product directions recommend reapplication every 4 weeks (approximately once monthly) or as directed by the Registered Veterinary Practitioner.
Key Benefits
Nayflee Plus provides dual-action parasite control. Fipronil targets adult fleas, ticks and lice, while (S)-Methoprene acts against immature flea stages. This combination helps both control an existing infestation and interrupt the flea life cycle, reducing the risk of repeated infestation.
Precautions
Do not use in kittens below 8 weeks of age. One product listing additionally advises against use in cats weighing less than 1 kg. Do not use in sick or convalescent animals without veterinary supervision.
Apply only to intact, dry skin where the cat cannot easily lick the product. Avoid contact with the eyes and mouth, and prevent treated animals from licking the application site until it has dried.
Use only the cat-specific 0.5 ML formulation; dog spot-on products may have different concentrations or dosing.
Possible Adverse Effects
Occasionally, temporary reactions at the application site may occur, including redness, itching, irritation, hair changes or temporary hair loss. Accidental licking immediately after application may cause transient excessive salivation.
If marked skin irritation, vomiting, tremors, weakness, abnormal behaviour or other significant symptoms occur, contact a veterinarian promptly.
Storage
Store in the original packaging in a cool, dry place, protected from excessive heat and direct sunlight. Keep away from children, food and animal feed. Follow the specific storage instructions printed on the original pack.
Important Warning
For veterinary use only. For external use only. Do not administer orally. Use the correct cat-specific pipette and follow veterinary/product directions. Effective flea management may also require treatment of the animal's environment, bedding and other susceptible pets to help control reinfestation.
