The product is positioned as a long-acting antibiotic using drug-delivery technology.
Enrofloxacin produces its antibacterial effect primarily by interfering with bacterial DNA replication, resulting in inhibition and death of susceptible bacteria.

FORTIVIR Injection is indicated for susceptible bacterial infections, particularly:
- Respiratory tract infections
- Digestive/Gastrointestinal tract infections
- Skin and soft-tissue infections
- Infections caused by susceptible Gram-positive bacteria
- Infections caused by susceptible Gram-negative bacteria
- Mycoplasma-associated infections
- Other susceptible primary and secondary bacterial infections.

A second administration after 72 hours may be given only if required.
Routes: I/M, S/C or slow I/V.
The amount administered at one injection site should not exceed 15 ML in cattle, buffalo and camel, or 5 ML in sheep, goats and pigs.
Key Benefits
FORTIVIR provides long-acting antibacterial activity with a convenient dosing schedule. Its Enrofloxacin formulation provides broad activity against susceptible Gram-positive, Gram-negative and Mycoplasma organisms, making it useful in bacterial respiratory, digestive, skin and soft-tissue infections.
Precautions
FORTIVIR is a prescription fluoroquinolone antibiotic and should be used only under veterinary supervision. Ideally, antibiotic selection should be based on clinical diagnosis and, where practical, culture and antimicrobial-susceptibility testing.
Avoid unnecessary or repeated use because inappropriate fluoroquinolone use can contribute to antimicrobial resistance.
For food-producing animals, strictly observe the meat and milk withdrawal periods stated on the current product label/package insert.
Possible Adverse Effects
Enrofloxacin is generally tolerated at recommended veterinary doses, but possible reactions can include temporary injection-site pain or swelling, reduced appetite or gastrointestinal disturbance.
Overdosage or inappropriate use may increase the risk of adverse reactions. Seek veterinary assistance if unusual or severe symptoms develop.
Storage
Store according to the conditions specified on the current product label/package insert, protected from excessive heat and direct sunlight. Keep the vial securely closed and use appropriate aseptic technique during administration.
Important Warning
FOR VETERINARY USE ONLY — PRESCRIPTION ANTIBIOTIC.
FORTIVIR should be used under the supervision of a registered veterinary practitioner. Fluoroquinolone antibiotics should be used responsibly to minimize development of antimicrobial resistance.
