Clinical Description
ENROX LA is a long-acting broad-spectrum fluoroquinolone veterinary antibiotic containing Enrofloxacin. It is formulated to provide sustained antibacterial activity following a single intramuscular administration.
Enrofloxacin acts primarily by inhibiting bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, enzymes essential for bacterial DNA replication and survival. This produces bactericidal activity against susceptible organisms.
Alembic describes ENROX LA as active against infectious diseases caused by susceptible Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, Mycoplasma and Mycobacterium.
Indications / Recommended Uses
According to Alembic Animal Health, ENROX LA is intended for the treatment of infectious diseases caused by susceptible Gram-positive and Gram-negative organisms, Mycoplasma and Mycobacterium.
Depending on veterinary diagnosis and bacterial susceptibility, Enrofloxacin may be selected for susceptible respiratory, gastrointestinal, reproductive and other systemic bacterial infections in livestock.
Dosage & Administration
Alembic recommends:
Dose: 7.5 MG/KG body weight as a single shot
Route: Intramuscular (IM)
Since ENROX LA contains 100 MG Enrofloxacin/ML, this corresponds to approximately:
1 ML per 13.3 KG body weight
The exact injection volume, injection-site limits and need for any further treatment should be determined by a registered veterinary practitioner.
Key Benefits
ENROX LA provides long-acting broad-spectrum antibacterial activity with a convenient single-shot IM dosing regimen. Its 100 MG/ML Enrofloxacin formulation is designed for susceptible bacterial infections across multiple livestock species.
Precautions
Use only under veterinary supervision. Fluoroquinolone antibiotics should be used responsibly and preferably based on clinical diagnosis and antimicrobial susceptibility considerations.
Use cautiously in animals with significant renal or hepatic impairment. Avoid use in animals with known hypersensitivity to Enrofloxacin or other fluoroquinolones.
For food-producing animals, strictly follow the current product label regarding applicable milk and meat withdrawal periods.
Possible Adverse Effects
Enrofloxacin may occasionally cause temporary injection-site pain, swelling or local tissue reaction. Gastrointestinal disturbances or hypersensitivity reactions may occur in susceptible animals.
Any severe or unexpected reaction should be evaluated promptly by a veterinarian.
Storage
Store according to the conditions stated on the original product label/package insert, protected from excessive heat and direct sunlight.
Keep the vial properly closed and use hygienic technique when withdrawing doses from a multidose container.
Important Warning
For veterinary use only. Prescription antibiotic.
ENROX LA should be administered under the supervision of a registered veterinary practitioner. Responsible fluoroquinolone use is important to reduce the development and spread of antimicrobial resistance.
