Clinical Description

Uterotone Liquid is a polyherbal phytobioactive uterine tonic formulated for reproductive and uterine health management after parturition. It combines ecbolic herbs with iron and copper to support uterine cleansing, normal lochial discharge, timely uterine involution and postpartum reproductive recovery. 

Indications / Uses

The manufacturer recommends Uterotone for uterine cleansing immediately after parturition, expulsion of retained placenta, regulation of lochial discharge and timely uterine involution. It is also used as supportive therapy in metritis, endometritis and pyometra. 

Dosage & Administration

Cow & Buffalo: 100–125 ml
Mare: 50–75 ml
Ewe & Doe: 20–40 ml

Administer orally twice daily for 4–5 days after parturition. For retained placenta, the manufacturer states that the dose may be tripled and repeated every 3 hours until the fetal membranes are expelled, or as directed by a veterinarian.

Precautions

The manufacturer describes its herbal products as residue-free. Uterotone is generally intended for use according to recommended quantities; discontinue and seek veterinary advice if an unusual reaction develops. 

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place, protected from direct sunlight and excessive heat. Keep the container properly closed after use and follow the current manufacturer's label instructions.

Withdrawal Period

The manufacturer states that Uterotone is herbal and residue-free with no milk withdrawal period. Follow the current product label and applicable local regulations for food-producing animals. 

Important Warning

For veterinary use only. Retained placenta can be associated with serious postpartum complications. Animals with fever, foul discharge, severe weakness, reduced milk production or prolonged placental retention should be evaluated by a veterinarian.
