Composition / Active Ingredient

Each ML contains:

Cloprostenol – 250 mcg/ml

Thus, a 2 ML dose provides 500 mcg of Cloprostenol. 

Cloprostenol is a synthetic analogue of Prostaglandin F2α (PGF2α) with potent luteolytic activity. It causes functional and morphological regression of the corpus luteum (luteolysis), allowing reproductive-cycle manipulation in responsive animals. 

Clinical Description

PregMate is a veterinary prostaglandin reproductive hormone injection developed for controlled breeding and therapeutic reproductive management in bovines and equines. By inducing luteolysis, it helps bring eligible animals into estrus and can be incorporated into estrus synchronization and timed breeding programs. 

Indications / Uses

PregMate is indicated for controlled breeding and estrus synchronization programs and for reproductive conditions including anoestrus associated with ovarian luteal cysts and suboestrus/silent estrus. 

It is also listed for termination of abnormal or unwanted pregnancy, removal of a mummified fetus, hydrops of fetal membranes, chronic endometritis/pyometra and induction of parturition. The manufacturer additionally positions it for reproductive herd-management programs involving coordinated feeding, artificial insemination and drying-off schedules. 

Dosage & Administration

Available product information lists:

Cattle & Buffaloes: 2 ML (500 mcg), IM
Horses up to 400 kg: 0.5–1 ML, IM
Horses above 400 kg: 1–2 ML, IM
Sheep & Goats: 0.5 ML (125 mcg), IM
Pigs: 0.7 ML (175 mcg), IM for induction of parturition. 

Breeding/synchronization protocols and repeat dosing should be determined by the veterinarian according to reproductive status and treatment objective.

Possible Adverse Effects
