Composition

Each LIXEN 300 MG Tablet contains:

• Cephalexin (Cefalexin) — 300 mg

Cephalexin is a first-generation cephalosporin, beta-lactam antibiotic with bactericidal activity against susceptible bacteria.

Clinical Description

LIXEN 300 MG is a veterinary systemic antibacterial tablet containing Cephalexin. It acts by inhibiting bacterial cell-wall synthesis, resulting in destruction of susceptible bacteria.

Cephalexin has activity against several susceptible Gram-positive bacteria and selected Gram-negative organisms. In veterinary practice, it is commonly used for bacterial infections involving the skin and soft tissues, particularly when the causative organism is susceptible to cephalexin.

Indications / Recommended Uses

LIXEN 300 MG Tablet may be prescribed by a veterinarian for susceptible bacterial infections in dogs and cats, including:

• Bacterial skin infections and pyoderma
• Superficial and deep skin infections
• Soft-tissue and wound infections
• Other susceptible bacterial infections where Cephalexin therapy is considered appropriate

The complete prescribed antibiotic course should be followed. Do not discontinue treatment early simply because clinical signs have improved, unless instructed by the treating veterinarian.
