Composition

Each 5 ML contains:

• Vitamin A — 1,000 IU
• Vitamin D₃ — 100 IU
• Vitamin E — 5 IU
• Wheat Germ Oil
• Lecithin
• Polysorbate 80
• Essential fatty acids including Linoleic, Oleic, Palmitic, Stearic and Arachidic acids

Elanco product literature describes Velcote as providing an approximately 1:6 ratio of Omega-3 to Omega-6 fatty acids. 

Clinical Description

VELCOTE Liquid is a highly palatable veterinary nutritional supplement designed to support healthy skin and a shiny, lustrous coat.

Its combination of essential fatty acids, Vitamin A, Vitamin D₃ and Vitamin E provides nutritional support to the skin and hair coat. Essential fatty acids contribute to normal skin-barrier function, while the vitamins support epithelial health and antioxidant protection. 

Indications / Recommended Uses

VELCOTE is recommended as nutritional support for:

• Dry and scaly skin
• Alopecia of nutritional origin
• Excessive or non-seasonal hair shedding
• Dull, rough or poorly conditioned coat
• Support alongside treatment of inflammatory skin disorders
• Maintaining a shiny and lustrous coat
• Skin and coat conditioning in show animals
• Nutritional support during breeding and fetal growth 

Usage Instructions

For oral administration.

Cats & Small Dogs: 1–2 ML daily
Medium to Large Dogs: 3–5 ML daily
Horses: 10–15 ML daily 

It can be given orally or mixed with the animal's regular food. Follow veterinary advice where the animal is being treated for an underlying dermatological condition.

Precautions

Persistent itching, severe hair loss, skin lesions, infection or recurrent dermatological problems should be evaluated by a veterinarian because these can have causes that nutritional supplementation alone will not address.

Possible Adverse Effects

VELCOTE is generally well tolerated at the recommended feeding quantity.

Excessive administration may potentially cause digestive upset or excessive intake of fat-soluble vitamins. Discontinue and seek veterinary advice if an unexpected reaction occurs.

Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Keep the container properly closed and out of reach of children.
