Composition

According to Virbac India, each 1 ML of VITABEST DERM contains:

• Vitamin A — 170 IU
• Vitamin E — 4 IU
• Zinc — 0.4 mg
• Omega-6 Fatty Acids — 374.6 mg
  • Linoleic Acid — 367 mg
  • Gamma-Linolenic Acid (GLA) — 7.6 mg
• Omega-3 Fatty Acids — 74.8 mg
  • Eicosapentaenoic Acid (EPA) — 44.8 mg
  • Docosahexaenoic Acid (DHA) — 30 mg

The Omega-6 and Omega-3 fatty acids are provided in a 5:1 ratio. 

Clinical Description

VITABEST DERM is a highly palatable veterinary nutritional supplement formulated specifically to support healthy skin and coat in dogs and cats.

Its combination of Omega-6 and Omega-3 fatty acids, Zinc, Vitamin A and Vitamin E helps maintain the epithelial skin barrier, normal skin integrity and healthy coat quality. EPA, DHA, linoleic acid and GLA provide targeted fatty-acid nutrition for skin and coat maintenance. 

Indications / Recommended Uses

VITABEST DERM is recommended as nutritional support for:

• Maintenance of healthy skin
• Dry or poor-quality skin and coat
• Dull or rough coat
• Maintenance of the epithelial skin barrier
• Promoting a shiny and lustrous coat
• Dermatological nutritional support
• Pets requiring additional Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids
• Support during dermatological challenges, as advised by a veterinarian

It is a nutritional supplement and should be used as supportive care rather than as a substitute for specific treatment of an underlying skin disease. 

Usage Instructions

For oral use in dogs and cats. Shake well before use.

For maintenance of skin and coat health:

Up to 10 kg body weight: 5 ML every alternate day
More than 10 kg body weight: 10 ML every alternate day

As supportive supplementation during dermatological challenges:

Up to 10 kg body weight: 5 ML daily
More than 10 kg body weight: 10 ML daily

Precautions

Avoid excessive supplementation with other products containing high amounts of Vitamins A/E, Zinc or essential fatty acids unless recommended by a veterinarian.

Possible Adverse Effects

VITABEST DERM is generally expected to be well tolerated when administered at the recommended amount.

Some animals may occasionally experience mild gastrointestinal upset, soft stools, vomiting or reduced appetite, particularly if excessive quantities are administered. Discontinue use and seek veterinary advice if a persistent or significant reaction occurs.
