Clinical Description
Nayflee Spray is a veterinary topical ectoparasiticide containing Fipronil. Fipronil is a phenylpyrazole antiparasitic agent that acts on the nervous system of susceptible ectoparasites, leading to paralysis and death.
It is designed for direct application to the skin and coat and provides control of common external parasites affecting dogs and cats.
Indications / Recommended Uses
Nayflee Spray is indicated for the treatment and prevention of external parasite infestations in dogs and cats, particularly:
- Fleas
- Ticks
- Lice
- Mites
- Supportive control in Flea Allergy Dermatitis (FAD) associated with flea infestation.
Dosage & Administration
Recommended dose: 3–6 ML per kg body weight, depending on coat length. For the 100 ML presentation, this corresponds to approximately 5–10 pump applications per kg body weight.
Spray from approximately 10–20 cm away, against the direction of hair growth, ensuring that the coat is dampened down to the skin. In long-haired animals, gently ruffle the coat to help the product reach the skin.
Avoid the eyes and mouth. Allow the coat to air-dry naturally; do not towel-dry. Do not bathe the animal for at least 48 hours after application.
Key Benefits
Nayflee provides effective topical control of fleas, ticks, lice and mites in both dogs and cats. Available product information reports residual activity of approximately 1 month against ticks and 1–3 months against fleas, depending on parasite challenge and environmental conditions.
Precautions
For external use only. Avoid spraying directly into the eyes, mouth, nose or open wounds. Prevent the animal from licking the treated coat until completely dry.
Apply in a well-ventilated area and wash hands after use. Keep the treated animal away from heat or open flames until the coat has dried. Do not use on rabbits.
Possible Adverse Effects
Nayflee is generally well tolerated when used correctly. Occasionally, animals may develop temporary skin irritation, redness, itching or coat changes at the application site.
Accidental licking may result in temporary excessive salivation. If significant irritation, vomiting, tremors or other unusual symptoms occur, seek veterinary attention.
Storage
Store below 30°C in a cool, dry place, protected from direct sunlight and excessive heat. Keep the container tightly closed and out of reach of children and animals. Netmeds
Important Warning
For veterinary use only. For external use only. Do not administer orally. Use according to the animal's body weight and veterinary directions. Effective flea and tick management may also require appropriate cleaning or treatment of bedding and the animal's environment to help prevent reinfestation.
