Clinical Description
MOXEL 3000 MG is a veterinary injectable antibacterial combination containing Amoxycillin and Cloxacillin, both belonging to the beta-lactam penicillin group.
Amoxycillin provides broad-spectrum antibacterial activity against many susceptible Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. Cloxacillin is a penicillinase-resistant penicillin that complements the formulation, particularly against susceptible penicillinase-producing staphylococci.
Both components exert bactericidal activity primarily through inhibition of bacterial cell-wall synthesis.
Indications / Recommended Uses
MOXEL 3000 MG is used for the treatment of susceptible bacterial infections in livestock. Veterinary product references describe its use in conditions including mastitis, metritis, respiratory-tract infections, urinary-tract infections, salmonellosis, calf scour and susceptible E. coli infections.
The specific indication should be determined by a veterinarian according to clinical diagnosis and, where appropriate, bacterial susceptibility.
Dosage & Administration
MOXEL 3000 MG is a parenteral veterinary antibiotic.
The sterile powder should be reconstituted with the recommended sterile diluent before administration.
The exact dose, route, frequency and treatment duration should follow the current manufacturer's package insert and the directions of a registered veterinary practitioner, as these depend on the animal's species, body weight, infection and clinical severity.
Key Benefits
MOXEL combines Amoxycillin + Cloxacillin in a 1:1 ratio, providing complementary broad-spectrum bactericidal antibacterial activity.
The combination is particularly useful where susceptible bacterial infections require coverage from a broad-spectrum aminopenicillin together with a penicillinase-resistant penicillin.
Precautions
Use only under veterinary supervision. Avoid use in animals with known hypersensitivity to Amoxycillin, Cloxacillin, penicillins, cephalosporins or other beta-lactam antibiotics unless specifically advised by a veterinarian.
For food-producing animals, strictly follow the current product label regarding milk and meat withdrawal periods. Antibiotics should be used at the prescribed dose and for the complete recommended treatment duration.
Possible Adverse Effects
Possible adverse effects associated with penicillin antibiotics may include injection-site pain or swelling and hypersensitivity/allergic reactions.
If severe swelling, breathing difficulty, collapse or another serious reaction occurs, discontinue treatment and seek immediate veterinary attention.
Storage
Store according to the conditions stated on the original product label/package insert, protected from excessive heat, moisture and direct sunlight.
After reconstitution, follow the manufacturer's instructions regarding storage temperature and permitted period of use.
Important Warning
For veterinary use only. Prescription antibiotic.
MOXEL 3000 MG should be administered under the supervision of a registered veterinary practitioner. Appropriate diagnosis, correct dosing and responsible antimicrobial use are important for reducing the risk of antimicrobial resistance.
