Clinical Description:
Feritas is an injectable haematinic formulated to support the treatment of iron-deficiency anaemia. Iron is required for haemoglobin formation and oxygen transport, while folic acid and hydroxocobalamin (Vitamin B12) support normal red-blood-cell production. Following intramuscular administration, the formulation is intended to improve haemoglobin concentration and packed cell volume, particularly in iron-deficient animals. 

Indications / Recommended Uses
Used for the treatment and supportive management of iron-deficiency anaemia and associated poor haemoglobin status in animals. It may be useful where increased haematinic support is required because of nutritional deficiency, growth, blood loss or other veterinary-diagnosed causes of anaemia. 

Dosage & Administration:
A current veterinary listing gives a general dosage of 0.5–1 ml per 50 kg body weight by intramuscular injection. Because iron requirements and causes of anaemia vary considerably among species, age groups and clinical conditions, the exact dose and treatment schedule should be determined by a Registered Veterinary Practitioner.
