Composition – Each Dose Contains:
The DHPP component contains live attenuated Canine Distemper Virus (Onderstepoort strain), Canine Adenovirus Type-2 (Manhattan strain), Canine Parvovirus (780916-LP strain) and Canine Parainfluenza Virus (D008 strain). The accompanying Lepto component contains inactivated Leptospira canicola and Leptospira icterohaemorrhagiae.
Clinical Description:
Canishot DHPPL is a multivalent canine vaccine designed to provide active immunization against several important infectious diseases of dogs. The combination allows vaccination against canine distemper, infectious canine hepatitis/adenovirus, canine parvovirus, canine parainfluenza and leptospirosis in a single vaccination procedure.
Indications:
Used as an aid in the prevention and control of Canine Distemper, Infectious Canine Hepatitis, Canine Parvovirus infection, Canine Parainfluenza/infectious respiratory disease and Leptospirosis caused by the included Leptospira serovars.
Dosage & Administration:
Reconstitute 1 dose of the freeze-dried DHPP vaccine with 1 dose (1 ml) of the Lepto component. After complete reconstitution, administer 1 ml per dog by subcutaneous (SC) or intramuscular (IM) injection. The manufacturer information describes primary vaccination beginning from approximately 6 weeks of age, followed by another vaccination 3–4 weeks later, with subsequent booster vaccination generally performed annually. The precise vaccination schedule should be determined by the veterinarian according to age, maternal-antibody status, previous vaccination history and local disease risk.
Key Benefits:
Provides convenient multivalent immunization against several serious canine infectious diseases in a single vaccination visit, reducing the number of separate vaccine administrations required.
Precautions:
Vaccinate healthy dogs only after appropriate veterinary examination. Administration should be performed by, or under the supervision of, a Registered Veterinary Practitioner. Use immediately after reconstitution and maintain proper aseptic technique. Do not use a vaccine that has been improperly stored, frozen, contaminated, or is beyond its expiry date. Vaccination may be postponed in animals with fever, significant illness or other conditions where the veterinarian considers immunization inappropriate.
Possible Adverse Reactions:
Mild and temporary pain or swelling at the injection site, lethargy, reduced appetite or mild fever may occur after vaccination. Hypersensitivity or anaphylactic reactions are uncommon but can be serious. Seek immediate veterinary attention if facial swelling, breathing difficulty, collapse, persistent vomiting or another severe reaction occurs.
Storage:
Maintain the vaccine under appropriate refrigerated cold-chain conditions, generally 2–8°C. Protect from light and do not freeze. Transport under refrigeration and follow the storage instructions printed on the original pack. The manufacturer's Korean product information also specifies refrigerated storage at 2–8°C for its canine vaccines.
Important Warning:
For veterinary use only. Vaccination should be administered by a Registered Veterinary Practitioner. Correct cold-chain maintenance is particularly important for live vaccines. Vaccination does not guarantee protection in every animal, especially where maternal antibodies, underlying illness, immune suppression or improper vaccine storage/administration interferes with the immune response.
