Clinical Description:
Mecovet-XL is a concentrated veterinary Methylcobalamin (active Vitamin B12) injection formulated to support normal nerve function, red blood-cell formation and energy metabolism. Methylcobalamin plays an important role in nerve-cell function and is particularly useful as supportive therapy in animals suffering from neurological weakness, nutritional deficiency, anaemia and debility. Carus describes the product as an “Extra Large Energy Booster.” 

Indications:
According to official Carus product literature, Mecovet-XL is indicated for nerve problems, lameness, ataxia, anorexia, anaemia, weakness, weight loss and indigestion. 

Dosage & Administration:
Cow, Buffalo & Horse: 5–10 ml
Calf, Sheep & Goat: 1–2 ml
Dog & Cat: 1 ml per 20 kg body weight
Or as directed by the veterinarian. 

Available product information lists IM/IV administration. The exact route, frequency and duration should follow the veterinarian's instructions.

Precautions:

Possible Adverse Effects:
Methylcobalamin injections are generally well tolerated when appropriately administered. Occasional injection-site pain, swelling or hypersensitivity reactions may occur. Seek veterinary attention if a significant or persistent reaction develops.

Storage:
Store according to the conditions stated on the original manufacturer pack, protected from direct sunlight and excessive heat. Keep out of reach of children and do not use after the stated expiry date.

Withdrawal Period:
For food-producing animals, follow the current Indian Mecovet-XL manufacturer label/package insert regarding milk and meat withdrawal. An unverified withdrawal period should not be published.

For veterinary use only. Mecovet-XL is supportive Vitamin B12 therapy and should not replace diagnosis and specific treatment of underlying neurological disease, anaemia, lameness, chronic weight loss or persistent anorexia.
