Mecovet® Injection 100 ML
Manufacturer/Marketer: Carus Laboratories Pvt. Ltd.
Product Type: Veterinary Injectable Vitamin & Neurotropic Supplement
Therapeutic Class: Vitamin B-Complex • Neurotropic Vitamin • Haematinic & Metabolic Support
Active Ingredients: Methylcobalamin + Vitamin B-Complex
Target Species: Cattle, buffaloes, horses, calves, sheep, goats, dogs & cats
Pack Size: 100 ml vial. Carus product literature specifically lists Mecovet in 10 ml, 30 ml and 100 ml packs.
Composition:
Mecovet is described as Methylcobalamin with Vitamin B-Complex Injection. Available product information identifies the principal components as Methylcobalamin, Pyridoxine (Vitamin B6) and Nicotinamide (Vitamin B3).
Because the manufacturer's accessible literature does not provide the complete per-ml quantitative formula for standard Mecovet, I recommend copying the exact strength of each ingredient from the current 100 ML vial/carton rather than publishing an unverified quantity.
Clinical Description:
Mecovet is a veterinary neurotropic Vitamin B-complex injection formulated to support normal nerve function, blood formation, appetite and energy metabolism. Methylcobalamin is an active form of Vitamin B12 with an important role in neurological function and red blood-cell formation, while B-complex vitamins provide additional metabolic and nutritional support.
Indications:
Manufacturer literature lists Mecovet for supportive management of nerve problems, lameness, ataxia, anorexia, anaemia, weakness, weight loss and indigestion. It may be particularly useful during nutritional deficiency, debility and recovery where Vitamin B supplementation is clinically indicated.
Dosage & Administration:
Manufacturer product literature gives the following doses:
Cattle, Buffalo & Horse: 10–15 ml
Calf, Sheep & Goat: 2–3 ml
Dog & Cat: 1 ml per 10–15 kg body weight
Or as directed by the Veterinarian.
Available product information lists IM/IV administration; the exact route and treatment duration should follow the current label and veterinarian's instructions.
Key Benefits:
Supports nerve function and neurological recovery, helps in nutritional management of anaemia and weakness, supports appetite and energy metabolism, and provides supportive therapy in animals experiencing lameness, ataxia, weight loss or poor condition.
Precautions:
For veterinary use only. Injectable vitamin preparations should be administered under veterinary supervision. Use sterile injection technique and follow the recommended dose and route. Do not use the product if the solution shows abnormal discoloration, contamination or particulate matter.
Possible Adverse Effects:
Vitamin B-complex injections are generally well tolerated when appropriately administered. Occasional injection-site discomfort, swelling or hypersensitivity reactions may occur. Discontinue treatment and seek veterinary attention if a significant reaction develops.
Storage:
Store according to the instructions on the original manufacturer pack, protected from excessive heat and direct sunlight. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the stated expiry date.
Withdrawal Period:
For food-producing animals, follow the current Indian product label/manufacturer instructions regarding milk and meat withdrawal. Rayavets should not publish an unverified withdrawal period.
Important Warning:
For veterinary use only. Mecovet is supportive vitamin therapy and should not replace diagnosis and specific treatment of the underlying cause of anaemia, neurological signs, lameness, anorexia or persistent weakness.
