Tolfenamic Acid Ph. Eur. — 80 MG
Benzyl Alcohol I.P. — 1.04% w/v (preservative)
Water for Injection I.P. — Q.S. 

Clinical Description

ALETOL DS is a veterinary non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) containing Tolfenamic Acid. It is formulated to provide relief from inflammation, pain and fever in livestock. Alembic Animal Health

Tolfenamic Acid reduces inflammatory prostaglandin production through inhibition of the cyclooxygenase pathway, thereby providing anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antipyretic effects.

Indications / Recommended Uses

According to Alembic Animal Health, ALETOL DS is recommended for:

• Fever
• Mastitis
• Metritis
• Prolapse of uterus
• Arthritis
• Laminitis
• Musculoskeletal disorders
• Post-operative support
• Respiratory diseases 

It is generally used as supportive therapy to control pain, inflammation and elevated body temperature while the underlying condition receives appropriate veterinary treatment.

Dosage & Administration

Alembic recommends:

Dose: 4 MG/KG body weight

Route: Intramuscular (IM) or Intravenous (IV). 

Since ALETOL DS contains 80 MG Tolfenamic Acid per ML, a dose of 4 MG/KG corresponds to approximately 1 ML per 20 KG body weight.

The exact treatment frequency and duration should be determined by a registered veterinary practitioner according to the animal's condition and clinical response.

Storage
