Clinical Description
ALBOMAR is a veterinary broad-spectrum anthelmintic suspension containing micronised Albendazole. It is formulated for the treatment and control of susceptible gastrointestinal and pulmonary parasites in livestock, poultry and companion animals.
Albendazole belongs to the benzimidazole class of anthelmintics. It interferes with parasite microtubule formation and energy metabolism, ultimately resulting in the death and elimination of susceptible worms.
Indications / Recommended Uses
ALBOMAR is indicated for the treatment and control of susceptible:
- Nematodes (roundworms)
- Cestodes (tapeworms)
- Trematodes (flukes)
- Gastrointestinal worms
- Pulmonary/lung worms
It provides broad-spectrum control against multiple internal parasites affecting livestock and other susceptible animals.
Dosage & Administration
General dose: Albendazole 5 MG/KG body weight orally.
The product information lists:
Cattle: 60–90 ML
Calves: 15–30 ML
Sheep & Goats: 2–3 ML per 10 KG body weight
Poultry: 30–45 ML per 100 birds
Dogs & Cats: 3–5 ML twice daily for 3 days
For liver flukes and tapeworms, a higher dose may be required as directed by a registered veterinary practitioner.
Route: Oral administration. Shake well before use.
Key Benefits
ALBOMAR provides broad-spectrum deworming activity against major classes of internal parasites. Its micronised Albendazole suspension is suitable for oral administration and is available for use across several livestock and companion-animal species.
Effective parasite control can help support appetite, nutrient utilization, growth, general health and productivity in animals affected by worm burdens.
Precautions
Use according to veterinary advice and avoid unnecessary overdosing. Albendazole should be used cautiously during pregnancy, particularly during early gestation, because benzimidazole anthelmintics may pose developmental risks depending on species, dose and timing.
For food-producing animals, follow the current product label and veterinary advice regarding meat, milk and egg withdrawal periods.
Possible Adverse Effects
Albendazole is generally well tolerated at recommended veterinary doses. Excessive dosing may cause reduced appetite, lethargy or other adverse effects, particularly in susceptible animals.
Seek veterinary advice if persistent vomiting, diarrhoea, marked weakness or another unusual reaction occurs.
Storage
Store at a temperature not exceeding 30°C and protect from direct light.
Keep the container tightly closed and shake well before use. Follow the storage instructions on the current product pack.
Important Warning
For animal treatment only. Not for human use. Veterinary prescription product.
Correct deworming should consider the animal species, body weight, parasite involved and local parasite-control program. Appropriate dosing and hygiene management help reduce reinfection and development of anthelmintic resistance.
