Clinical Description

Spasdic Vet is a veterinary antispasmodic, analgesic and anti-inflammatory injection formulated for painful conditions associated with smooth-muscle spasms. Pitofenone and Fenpiverinium provide antispasmodic activity, while Piroxicam provides NSAID-mediated analgesic and anti-inflammatory action.

The product is one of Sushima Pharmaceuticals' established veterinary products; the company states that Spasdic Vet and Vetcip were its first two products when it began operations in 1998. 

Indications / Uses

According to the manufacturer, Spasdic Vet Injection is indicated for abdominal colic, biliary colic and renal colic, as well as diarrhoea and dysentery associated with painful spasmodic conditions. It is also indicated for painful spasmodic conditions associated with uterine, rectal and vaginal prolapse, after manual handling of dystocia, and following parturition or abortion. 

Dosage & Administration

Manufacturer-recommended dosage:

Large Animals: 20–30 ML, by deep intramuscular (IM) injection.
Small Animals: 1 ML per 15 kg body weight, by deep IM injection for 3–5 days. 

Treatment should be administered under the supervision of a registered veterinary practitioner.
