Composition

PET DERM Spray contains:

• Miconazole Nitrate – 2% w/v
• Chlorhexidine Gluconate – 2% w/v 

Miconazole is an imidazole antifungal agent active against susceptible dermatophytes and yeasts, while Chlorhexidine provides broad topical antimicrobial activity against susceptible bacteria.

Clinical Description

PET DERM Spray is a medicated antifungal and antibacterial topical preparation for dogs and cats, formulated for the management of infectious dermatological conditions.

The combination of Miconazole 2% + Chlorhexidine 2% provides dual action against susceptible fungal, yeast and bacterial organisms involved in common skin disorders.

It is particularly useful in conditions such as dermatophytosis (ringworm), seborrhoeic dermatitis associated with Malassezia, and bacterial skin infections such as pyoderma. 

Indications / Recommended Uses

PET DERM Spray may be used for:

• Dermatophyte / fungal skin infections
• Ringworm
• Microsporum canis infection
• Microsporum gypseum infection
• Trichophyton mentagrophytes infection
• Malassezia-associated seborrhoeic dermatitis
• Susceptible bacterial skin infections
• Pyoderma
• Localized infectious dermatitis
• Associated itching and skin irritation when caused by susceptible infections. 

Dosage & Administration

Route: Topical / External use.

Spray directly onto the affected skin area.

A current veterinary product listing recommends application 2–3 times daily, or as directed by the veterinarian. 

Before application, remove excessive dirt or debris where appropriate. Apply sufficiently to cover the affected area.

Prevent the animal from licking the treated area immediately after application. 

Treatment frequency and duration should ultimately depend on the type, extent and severity of the skin condition and veterinary advice.

Contraindications & Precautions

Do not use in animals with known hypersensitivity to Miconazole, Chlorhexidine or any component of the formulation.

For external use only.

Avoid contact with the eyes, mouth and other mucous membranes.

Do not allow the animal to lick the treated area immediately after application.

Persistent, widespread, recurrent or severely inflamed skin disease should be evaluated by a veterinarian because underlying allergy, parasites, endocrine disease or other disorders may require additional treatment.
